Computer determinations for the fault-plane solutions in and near Anatolia

Abstract

Abstract With the help of initial motions of longitudinal waves, recorded in seismic stations all over the world, the mechanism in the focus of 77 earthquakes during the period between 1939 and 1966 with epicentres in and near Anatolia is determined using a computer program described earlier by Wickens et al. (1963). Provisional conclusions are listed in a tabular form in Table I according to the positions of the principal stresses causing the earthquakes in the whole region.
