Theory of Thermoelastic Bending of Straight Bars

Abstract

This paper deals with the derivation of the fundamental eçuations of theory of thermoelastic bending of straight bars by integrating the field equations of coupled linear thermoelasticity över the cross section of the bar. The eçuations so obtained are then solved for an infinitely long homogeneous bar and for a simply supported bar suddenly loaded by a uniformly distributed force.
