| dc.description.abstract | In this paper an attempt has been made to develop a theory for thick straight bars which takes the shearinğ strains into accouıtt. First rectangular cross sections have been considered, then a solution has been obtained for bars with arbîtrary cross sections by resorting higher order macroscopic eguations of motion. It has been shown that the classical eguations of motion become sufficient if the boundary of the cross section is a second degree closed curve. | |
