Özet
This study is a report of measurements, conducted at Istanbul Ataturk, of the noise caused by aircraft on the ground at the moment of take-off when the engines are being given their maximum thrust. The noise levels of the aircraft are measured from a distance of 100 m (meters) from the source at angles of 30, 60, 75, 90, 120, 135, and 150 degrees starting from the jet nose and moving in the direction of the main aircraft axis, as per ISO 3891. The measurements were taken in 1992 on 6 August, 23 September, 15 October, 28 October, 4 November, 7 November, and 18 December for about six hours' duration on each occasion. The study was conducted in two parts: field work and laboratory investigation. The study concludes with an examination of the impact that meteorological and ground factors have upon the propagation of the noise and a comparison is made of the noise levels determined at different angles from the aircraft nose. The noise generated at the moment of take-of is the most severe of all run-up operatio...
