Özet
Yüksek kromlu beyaz dökme demirler genel olarak iyi aşınma direnci ve tokluk özellikleri gösterirler. Bu nedenle geniş bir kullanım alanına sahiptirler. Cevher kırıcıları, öğütücü değirmen bilyeleri, çeşitli astarlar, tarım alet ve makinaları, pistonlar ve dişlileri, çeşitli konveyörler, greyder bıçakları, pompalar, diskler, tuğla kalıpları, segmanlar ve çubuklar, madencilik ve mineral sanayi gibi yüksek aşınma direnci gerektiren yerlerde yüksek alaşımlı beyaz dökme demirler kullanılır. Bu tip uygulamalarda kullanılan malzemelerin aşınması sonucunda maddi zararlar ve iş kayıpları meydana gelmektedir. Yüksek kromlu beyaz dökme demirler gösterdikleri mükemmel aşınma direnci ile bu amaca en uygun malzeme tiplerinden biridir.Bu çalışmada farklı bileşimlerdeki yüksek kromlu beyaz dökme demirlere çeşitli karbür yapıcı alaşım elementleri ilavesi ve farklı ısıl işlem uygulamaları ile aşınma direncinin artırılması hedeflenmiştir. Her bileşim için döküm, ısıl işlem ve ısıl işlem + temperleme sonrası halleri için ayrı ayrı metalografi numuneleri hazırlanmış ve bu numuneler üzerinde mikroyapı incelemeleri yapılmıştır. Kantitatif elementel analizler kimyasal analiz, XRF analizi ve EPMA kullanılarak yapılmıştır. Ayrıca farklı kesitlerde mikro sertlik taramaları yapılmıştır. Numunelerin aşınma testleride ball-cratering yöntemi kullanılarak ölçülmüştür.
High chromium content white cast irons have generally good wear resistance and toughness properties. Due to their high wear resistance high chromium white cast irons have wide application areas. These types of cast irons generally used in slurry pumps, brick dies, several mine drilling equipments, discs, pistons and gears.Abrasion of these kind of materials cause financial costs. For this reason the improvement of the materials wear resistance has a great importance. High chromium white cast iron is a material that suitable for these types of applications as it has excellent abrasion resistance.Chromium carbide present in the structure of high chromium white cast iron is known to improve this material’s mechanical strength and wear resistance. In this study, high chromium white cast irons in different chemical composition were investigated to achieve better wear resistance. Effects of alloying elements (ferro-boron and ferro-cobalt) and heat treatment methods on wear resistance were studied. For every chemical composition, a specimen for metallographic research was prepared. Microstructure of the specimens was analyzed by optical microscope. Quantitative elemental analysis was performed by using XRD, XRF, EPMA and AAS. Moreover, micro hardness measurements were made on different cross-section areas. Moreover, wear resistance of the specimens was measured by using ball-cratering method.
