Abstract The effect of irradiation under vacuum on thermal properties, and swelling behaviour on Poly(2-vinylpyridine) (P2VP) has been investigated with respect to their swelling properties and network structures. The gel percent of the irradiated P2VP samples was determined by Soxhlet extraction, and UV spectroscopy was used to determine sol percent. The change in glass transition temperature ( T g ) was followed by Differential Scanning Calorimetry before and after soxhlet extraction.
