Beyoğlu-istiklal Caddesi Ve Yakın Çevresinde Kentsel Yaşamın Kesitler Üzerinden Okunması Ve Caddedeki Kalabalık

Abstract

Bu tez, gündelik hayat pratiklerini ve kentsel yaşamı inceleyerek içinde bulunduğumuz durumu anlamak ve bu durumla ilgili soruları açmaya ve cevaplamaya çalışmak amacıyla hazırlanmıştır. Bu çalışma, metropolde kentsel alanların barındırdığı yaşamları, bu alanlardaki değişimleri, değişimlerin nedenlerini, kullanıcı-mekan ilişkilerini araştırmayı amaçlar. Tarihi kent merkezleri iki boyutlu bir imaj olarak algılanmakta ve temsil edilmektedir. Bu tezde, algı ve temsil ile ilişkili olarak, kentsel mekandaki ilişkileri kavrayabilmek için üç boyutlu bir kentsel alan incelemesi yapılması gerektiği düşünülmüştür. Kesitler alarak yapılan bu kentsel araştırma, çalışma alanının üçüncü boyutunu vermeyi amaçlamıştır. Bu tezde, çalışma alanı olarak İstanbul metropolünün çekirdeği olan Beyoğlu-İstiklal Caddesi seçilmiştir. Taksim’den Tünel’e kadar caddeye dik alınan 60 kesit, buradaki kentsel yaşamın kesitleri olarak, iki farklı mekansal kullanıma odaklanılması gerektiğini göstermiştir: tüketim ve direnç.

This thesis is prepared with the aim of understanding our situation and answering and opening questions about this situation while observing practice of everyday and urban life. This work aims to investigate metropolitan urban life, user-space relationship, change and the reasons of change in metropolitan areas. Historical city centers have been perceived and represented as a two dimentional image. In this study it is assumed that ,relating with perception and represantation, in order to understand the relations in urban space a three dimensional reading had to be done. Reading through sections is aimed to give the third dimension of working area. In this study, Beyoğlu-İstiklal Street which is the core of İstanbul metropolis is selected as research area. This work focuses on the crowd of İstiklal Street. 60 sections prepared perpendicular to street from Taksim to Tünel which became sections of the urban life in this place , have indicated that there are two different spatial uses which have to be focused on: consumption and resistance.
