Toplu Konut Alanlarında Simgesel Performansa Yönelik Kullanım Sonrası Değerlendirme Modeli

Abstract

Çalışma bütününde “Kullanım Sonrası Değerlendirme” kapsamında kullanıcı yargılarına dayanarak; toplu konut alanlarında simgesel performansın değerlendirilmesine yönelik holistik bir model geliştirilmeye çalışılmıştır. Simgesel performans; değerlendirilmesi oldukça güç ve tasarım kriteri haline dönüştürülmesi oldukça zordur. Bunun ana nedenlerinden biri; simgesel performans boyutuna ait değerlendirme kriterlerinin öznel değerlere dayanmasıdır. Böylece; kullanım aşamasında olan yaşam çevrelerinin simgesel performansının değerlendirmesine yönelik bir model sayesinde çevreninin hangi özelliklerinin kullanıcısı tarafından nasıl anlamlandırıldığını konusunu aydınlatacağı düşünülmektedir. Model temel olarak kullanıcı yargılarına dayanarak toplu konut alanının değerlendirilmesi sürecini kapsamaktadır. Geliştirilen modelle çevreye ait niteliklerin birer gösterge olarak kullanıcıda anlam oluşturduğu düşüncesinden yola çıkarak; bu göstergelerin ve ilettikleri anlamların neler olabileceğini, kullanıcıyı hangi davranışlara yönelttiğini saptamak hedeflenmektedir. Model kapsamında çevrenin niteliklerinin kullanıcı tarafından algılanmasıyla başlayan süreç, kullanıcının çevreye karşı bir tepki olarak gerçekleştirdiği davranışla sonlanır. Model; kullanıcı-çevre etkileşim süreci, çevrenin kullanıcı tarafından “algılanması”, çevreye ait niteliklerin birer gösterge olarak “anlamlandırılması” ve edinilen anlamın kullanıcı tarafından “değerlendirilmesi” şeklinde birbirini izleyen alt süreçleri kapsar. Böylece modelde çevrenin fiziksel yapısı; süreci başlatan neden, kullanıcının edindiği anlama dayanarak, çevreye karşı geliştirdiği davranış sonuç olur. Buna göre çevreye ait nitelikler kullanıcının edindiği anlamı ve davranışını belirlemektedir. Ancak anlamın oluşum sürecinde yerleşimin olduğu kadar kullanıcının nitelikleri de etkilidir. Bu nedenle de süreçte etkin olan; kullanıcının ve çevrenin niteliklerinin belirlenmesi için bir sınıflandırma sistemi de geliştirilmeye çalışılmıştır. Sınıflandırma sistemi çevre kapsamında; genel yerleşim düzeni ve betimleyici düzeni, kullanıcı kapsamında da kullanıcı niteliklerini içerir ve bu unsurları model çerçevesinde etkin olduğu söylenebilir. Yukarıda özetlenmeye çalışılan tez bütününde öncelikle Kullanım Sonrası Değerlendirme, performans, gösterge ve simge kavramları detaylı olarak incelenmiştir. Bu kavramlara dayanarak geliştirilen modelin ve çalışmanın hipotezlerinin sınanması amacıyla da çalışma bir uygulamayla desteklenmiştir. Böylece kuram-kılgı bağının ortaya konulması hedeflenmiştir.

At the basis of post occupancy evaluation a holistic model, enables to evaluate the symbolic performance with user’s judges, proposed in the subject of the study. Evaluation of symbolic performance is quite hard and difficult to transform in it to design criteria. One of the reasons of that difficulty is evaluation of symbolic performance was based on the subjective values of the users. Therefore the model that considering the evaluating the symbolic performance of the occupied environments, lightening to the subject of which characteristics of an environment could constitute by the users. Model basically covers the evaluation of mass housing areas by the judges of its users. What would be signs in an environment, what would be their meanings, which behavior of users they directed are the subjects aimed to determine by the thought of environmental characteristics as a sign could constitute the users meanings. Perception of environment by the users starts the process and it ends by the behavior of the as a reaction the environment in the model’s extension. The model covers four sub-processes, these are the environment and user interaction process, the perception of environment, meaning of environmental characteristics and evaluation of obtained meaning. In this manner the physical structure of the environment seen as a reason starts the process and the user’s behavior seen as the result in the model. Thus the environmental characteristics determine the user’s meanings and behavior. But user’s characteristics are as affective as environmental characteristics in the obtaining meaning process. For this reason there is a classification system had been developed for determining the user’s and environmental characteristics. The classification system covers; order of settlement and descriptive order in the concept of environment, user characteristics in the concept of user. It could say that these elements are affective in the scope of the model. On this aim the Post Occupancy Evaluation, performance, sign and symbol concept was widely investigated and then a theoretical model constituted. To test the hypothesis and the theoretic model a case study had been held and exposed the relation between theory and practice.
