Güvenli Veri İletiminde Kullanılan Vpn Tiplerinin Uygulaması Ve Performans Analizi

Abstract

Bu çalışmada, internet gibi güvenli olmayan bir bilgisayar ağı üzerinde veri iletimini güvenli bir kanal üzerinden yapılmasını sağlayan farklı tiplerdeki özel sanal ağların (VPN) kurulum uygulaması yapılmıştır. Uygulanan üç farklı VPN tipi için veri iletim süresi, veriye ulaşma performansı yönünden değerlendirilmiştir. Uçtan uca (L2L), İstemci VPN (CVPN) ve SSL VPN yöntemlerinin uygulandığı bu çalışmada üç VPN tipinde aynı şifreleme ve karım fonksiyonları kullanılarak internete açık olmayan uzak web sunucusuna bağlantı kurulmuştur. Üç farklı VPN tipi ile iki farklı boyuttaki web sayfasına erişim süreleri ölçülmüş sonuçlar karşılaştırılmıştır. Uçtan uca VPN yöntemi her iki boyuttaki web sayfasına erişim süresi olarak en iyi sonucu vermiştir. En uzun süre ise SSL VPN yöntemi ile erişimde ölçülmüştür. Uçtan uca VPN yönteminin en iyi sonucu vermesi, şifreleme ve şifre çözme işlemlerinin VPN sonlandırıcı cihazda yapılmasının bir sonucu olarak değerlendirilmiştir. SSL VPN yöntemindeki sürenin uzun olması ise, şifreleme ve şifre çözme işlemlerinin istemci bilgisayarında yapılması ve ağ geçidinin web sayfasına getirdiği ek yükün bir sonucudur.

In this study, application of different types of virtual private networks (VPN) is shown to achieve secure data transfer over a non secure channel like internet. Data transfer durations are evaluated in terms of data access performance for three types of VPN. Connection to the web page is achieved with site to site (L2L), client VPN (CVPN) and SSL VPN types which is not accessible over internet by using same encryption and hashing algorithms. With these three types of VPN, Access duration to two different sizes of web pages are measured and results are compared. Site to site VPN type gave the best result as access duration for both two sizes of web pages. SSL VPN type has the longest access time to web pages. Having the best result with site to site VPN is evaluated as a result of performing encryption and hashing process on VPN gateway device.
