This study intends to understand how the "bağlama instrument", which has gained an important representation in folk music in Turkey, is shaped in the direction of the performer. In order to investigate this situation, it is desired to select one of the playing models of the bağlama instrument, techniques of the bağlama without plectrum, and to design the players using this technique through the question of whether there is a relational integrity of the layers constituting the performance capacities. Two metaphors were created when we focused on the performances of musical characters based on techniques of the bağlama without plectrum and when we considered them according to the way they represented it, we were dealing with performers because a perspective based on urban-rural segregation would not be correct. The first was chosen as the temporal areas that were the basis for the formation of performance. The second perspective is expressed in the areas where performance presentation and function are effective. Then, in these chapters, it was investigated how the general executive characteristics of techniques of bağlama without plectrum model are formed, and how this performance is handled technically in the theoretical expressions and transformed into a capacity that is constantly shaped by many musical thoughts and conditions of the given area. It has been seen that the material that emerged as a product is not a product of capacity that is formed only by a technical emphasis and a musical impression in the design process, and that these layers are nourished in themselves and the capacity of techniques of the bağlama without plectrum has emerged in general. Attention has been paid to the capacity areas of the performer in terms of visual, audio, video and written materials. In parallel with the obtained data, attempts have been made to define the identifications of the emerging capacities. Through the areas that are gained here, a performer will be noticed not only about the technique and the concepts such as ability, skill, and virtuosity that emphasize it but will pay attention to how performance will be done through the emerged capacity fields. After these areas were composed, they were discussed through Bruce Kapferer's “deep play” and “superficial play” approaches employed by ethnomusicology. Through this approach, analyzes have been made on how the performer shapes himself in performance production in the context of society, individual, music universe, and his perspective, which he is in and interacts with. From the data obtained from this, it is seen that the play capacity that the performer has achieved with the tradition he has positioned himself ensures that he is included in the deep play or superficial play. Thus, the products produced by the performances can be defined according to the inspection characteristics of both fields, and the capacity fields can be defined to include the obtained data. The definition of capacity, which generally has a macro view, has turned into a whole of concepts by examining the people who present techniques of the bağlama without plectrum. Through this work, the layers bringing performance to the stage have been approached at a more micro scale, giving the opportunity to present a micro perspective on how performance is rather than what it is
