Chamber-confined silicon–carbon nanofiber composites for prolonged cycling life of Li-ion batteries

Abstract

<p>Silicon is confined within the empty chambers of carbon nanofibers, in which the volume expansion of Si can be buffered and SEI formation is controlled. This self-supported composite is a promising electrode candidate for use in flexible batteries.</p>
