Bilişsel Haritalandırmada Etkin Parametrelerin Ortaya Konması: İtü Ayazağa Kampüsü Örneği

Abstract

Bilişsel haritalandırmada etkin parametrelerin irdelenmesine altyapı oluşturmayı amaçlayan literatür araştırması, tezin kuramsal kurgusunu oluşturmaktadır. Yapılan alan çalışması, kuramsal kurguda ortaya konan yaklaşımlar yardımıyla bilişsel haritalar konusunda yeni bulgular elde etmeyi amaçlamaktadır. İstanbul Teknik Üniversitesi Ayazağa Kampüsünde gerçekleştirilen alan çalışması, kampüste öğrenim gören öğrencilerin denek olarak katılımı ile gerçekleştirilmiş, bu deneklerle görüşme ve deneklerin kampüs haritasını çizmesi olmak üzere iki aşamadan oluşmaktadır. Birinci aşamada, kampüsün en etkin sosyal etkileşim alanlarından biri olan 75. Yıl Öğrenci Sosyal Merkezinde yapılan görüşmelerde 23 sorudan oluşan sözel anketlerle öğrencilerin kampüs içindeki tercih ve davranışlarını, kampüs hakkındaki görüş ve değerlendirmelerini tespit etmeyi amaçlamaktadır. İkinci aşamada ise deneklerden, kampüs ve yakın çevresini içeren basit bir kroki çizmesi istenmiştir. Literatürdeki diğer araştırmalarla karşılaştırıldığında bilişsel haritalandırmada etkin parametreler olan; cinsiyet, yaş, çevresel alanda deneyimlenen süre ve yaşanan semte ilişkin bulgular elde edilmiştir.The literature research, which aims to provide an infrastructure for explorations of effective parameters in cognitive mapping, forms the theoretical structure. With the help of the approaches emerged in theoretical discussions, the case study of this dissertation aims to reach new findings about cognitive maps. The case study was conducted in Ayazağa Campus of Istanbul Technical University that has emerged by the participation of students as test subjects, is formed by two parts, which are ‘the interviews’ and ‘the drawings of the campus map by the students.’ The first part of the survey aims to clarify the preferences and behaviors of the students and their opinions about the campus. And in the second part, the test subjects are asked to draw a simple sketch of the campus and its close environment. According to the findings of this dissertation, gender, age, experiences in environmental area and related to the period, quality of neighborhood are effective parameters on cognitive mapping.
