Abstract

The evolving nature of distribution networks, increasing energy needs and the widespread use of distributed generation units pose significant problems in the network. The most important of these problems are the increase of the busbar voltages and the decrease of the power factor, which occur in the distribution network due to bidirectional flows. These problems lead to failure of network devices, degradation of service life of system components and decrease of the quality of supplied energy. In this study, an analysis study was carried out by considering the design limits of the distributed generation units in order to reduce the power factor. Within the scope of the study, it has been seen that many problems have been solved by changing the existing power plant setting values without exceeding the limits within the distribution system.
