The Associaton Constants of Macrocyclic Ether-Cation Interactions in Dioxane / Water mixtures, Part II

Abstract

The association constants of Na+ with the macrocycles of [12]crown-4, [15]crown-5, [18]crown-6, Diaza[18]crown-6 and PEG 600 were estimated in dioxane / water (50/50) using a Na2+ ion selective electrode with the relationship, 1/Ka [Lo]n+m-1 = (1-nP′)n (1-mP′)m / P′ where, P’ is the mole fraction of the complexed cation.
