Abstract
<!--!introduction!--><b></b><p>Terrestrial water storage anomaly (TWSA) has a vital place in the water cycle. GRACE and its successor GRACE-FO mission are a widely used remote sensing method for TWSA determination on a global and regional scale. GRACE/-FO is not recommended for use in areas smaller than 100,000 km2 due to its 3x3 degree spatial resolution. However in this study, as the capability of the GRACE/-FO mission data in small basin areas was investigated. Therefore, the Kızılırmak basin, which has an area of approximately 80,000 km2 in Turkey, was selected as the study area. Another method used to determine TWSA is the GLDAS land hydrology models. Within the scope of the study, level-3 mascon data provided by JPL NASA for the 20-year period between 2002-2022 and GLDAS LSM models were used. The data gaps of 1-2 months in the GRACE/-FO missions and the 11-month data gap between GRACE and GRACE-FO was excluded to avoid any bias. With the pearson correlation analysis, the relationship between GRACE/-FO level-3 mascon data and GLDAS LSMs was examined. In the correlation analysis, the relationship between GLDAS-Noah, VIC, CLSM, averaged GLDAS and GRACE/-FO was examined and CC=0.73, 0.41, 0.64 and 0.53 values were obtained, respectively. The study will be going on with data contribution from other satellite missions in future days in order to improve the quality of obtained results. In this study, it is aimed to contribute to the hydrological cycle and water resources management by investigating the usability of GRACE/-FO satellite mission data in small basins.</p>
