Bifunctional polytetrahydrofurans: Synthesis and utilization of azo-benzoin functional polytetrahydrofurans

Abstract

Bifunctional polytetrahydrofurans which contain a thermally sensitive azo group in the main chain and photochemically active benzoin groups at the chain ends were synthesized by utilizing an azo-oxo-carbenium initiator. These polymeric initiators were employed in the synthesis of block copolymers with styrene and acrylate monomers.
