Teknolojinin Mimari Tasarım Ortamına Yansımaları Üzerine Bir Araştırma

Abstract

Dönem olarak iki farklı yüzyıl içinde mimari tasarım ortamı teknoloji ile bağlantılı olarak incelenmiştir. Birincisi 19. yüzyıl sonu ve 20. yüzyıl başında göz önünde olan 1. Makine Çağı, ikincisi ise 20.yüzyıl ikinci yarısı ve 21. yüzyıl girişi ile daha da anlam kazanan 2. Makine Çağı’dır. Teknoloji çerçevesi içinde makinenin ortak bir dil olarak seçilmesiyle birlikte teknolojik gelişmeler iki döneme ayrılmış ve bu doğrultuda Birinci ve İkinci Makine Çağı tanımları kullanılmıştır. Bu iki çağın farklılıkları üzerinde durmak ve süreçlerini tartışmak önem kazanmış, aynı zamanda da aynı kriterler üzerinden kapsam alanları oluşturularak analiz edilmişlerdir. Makinenin ortak dil olarak iki dönemde de etkin olarak kullanılması seçim için belirleyici dili meydana getirmiştir. Tezin kapsamında teknoloji tanımlarına, bu tanımların getirdiği kavram ve ortamlara yönelik yorumlar ve açıklamalara değinilmiştir. Teknoloji ve mimari tasarımın 19. yüzyıl sonu, 20.yüzyıl ve 21. yüzyıl başındaki gelişimi incelenmiş ve dönemlerin analizleri yapılmıştır. Teknoloji ile mimarinin kurduğu ilişki anlatılırken, teknolojinin mimariye getirdiği yeni kavramlar ve yönlenmeler de irdelenmiştir. Teknoloji gelişimi ve bilimsel yönü çerçevesinde mühendisliğin gelişimi, mimari tasarım ve mühendisliğin iç içe alınışını sağlamıştır. Dönemlere ait teknolojik gelişmeler, mimari tasarım ortamında yeni kavramların oluşmasını sağlamıştır. Makine çağı kavramı bunlardan biridir. Makine çağının dikkat çekiciliği teknoloji gelişimine paralel olarak oldukça ön plana çıkmıştır. Bu da farklı yeni tasarım kriterlerinin, yeni akımların, stillerin oluşmasında etkili olmuştur. Teknolojinin iki farklı dönemi olarak birinci ve ikinci makine çağı tanımlamaları yapılarak analizleri ortaya konmuştur. Örneklemelerle kıyaslanıp desteklendirilmişlerdir.The architectural design atmosphere was studied carefully with technology in two different centuries. The first one which appeared in the end of the nineteenth century and in the beginning of twentieth century is the First Machine Age, the second one which was clearly seen in the second half of twentieth century and also in the entrance of twenty first century is the Second Machine Age. According to the limits of technology, technologic developments were split into two different periods with the selection of machine as a common language. Due to this separation the First and the Second Machine Age definitions are used. Discussing the differences between these two ages and determining the process became important as taking the same criterions for analyzing the scope of these ages. The effective usage of machine as a common language in both these two periods, constituted a clear language for the election. The scope of this thesis includes definitions of technology, comments and explanations about the concept and environment, which these definitions clarified. Development of the technology and architectural concept in the ends of the nineteenth century, in the twentieth century and in the beginnings of twentyfirst century was examined and the analyzes of these periods are made. As explaining the relationships between technology and architecture, the new concepts and directions were also researched. Development of the technology and improvement of engineering in the meaning of science provided considering architectural concept and engineering together. Technologic developments at these periods caused composing new concepts in architectural design environment. The concept Machine Age is one of the definitions. Concrentration of machine age came to the fore quite due to development of technology. This effected formation of new different design criterions, new movements and styles. As being two different periods of technology, First and Second Machine Age definition are introduced analyzes in structures. They also compared and discussed within examples.
