Abstract
This thesis focuses on the discussion of numeric methods that are used for analyzing geotechnical problems and their improvement while giving information about types of tunnels, surveys that are made till the start of tunnel construction, surface and underground operations, support systems and soil improvement methods. As a tunnel construction method, NATM (New Australian Tunnel Construction Method) is explained in detail. Also in this thesis deformations appearing both over the tunnel facing and ground surface are examined by PLAXIS Software which uses finite element method for the calculation of stress and strain data. Soil conditions are improved for the situations that the deformation and vertical displacement values are out of the required boundaries. Improvements are changed till the desired vaules are reached and all the results are showed in detail with the graphics at the end of the thesis .
