Abstract
Bu çalışmada, cam fiber takviyeli polyester kompozitlerin mekaniksel davranışları üstünde matris modifikasyonunun etkileri incelenilmiştir. Polyester matris malzeme oligomerik siloksan ile modifıye edilmiştir. Siloksan, cam kumaşların ağırlığı ile orantılı olarak % 1, 2 ve 3 seviyelerinde kullanılmıştır. Çekme, eğilme ve tabakalar arası kayma mukavemet testleri kompozitlerin mekanik davranışlarını incelemek için gerçekleştirilmiştir. %l-3 aralığında siloksan miktarı arttıkça, çekme, eğilme ve tabakalar arası kayma mukavemetinin arttığı açıkça görülmüştür. Polyester matris içerisine % 3 siloksan katılmasının bir sonucu olarak, polyester kompozitin tabakalar arası kayma mukavemeti yaklaşık olarak % 75 artmıştır.
In this study, effects of matrix modification on the mechanical behavior of glass fiberreinforced polyester composite were investigated. The polyester matrix was modified with oligomeric siloxane. The siloxane was used at levels of l , 2, and 3 % based on the weight of the glass fabrics. Tensile, flexural and interlaminar shear tests were performed to observe mechanical behavior of the composites. It was apparently seen that the amount of siloxane increases in the range of 1-3 % (w/w), the tensile strength, flexural strength and interlaminar shear strength (ILSS) increases. As a result of incorporation of 3% siloxane to polyester matrix, the interlaminar shear strengths (ILSS) of the polyester composite increased approximately by 75 0/0.
