Bending Theory of Microelastic Bars

Abstract

In this paper the fundamental equations of the theory of simple bending of microelastic straight bars are derived by integrating the field equations of media having couple stresses, which are a special class of microelastic material, over the cross section area of the bar. The resulting equations are applied to a specific example.
