Abstract
Classical continuum mechanics do not consider the influence of strains and temperature of distant points on the reference point. Nonlocal theory on the other hand, incorporates these distant effects. As a result the stress at a reference point is a functional of motion and temperatures of all points of the body. Longitudinal wave propagation in thermoelastic plates is investigated in the context of nonlocal thermoelasticity in one of the author’s work |1|. Using the integral form of constitutive equations, field equations are obtained. Then the frequency equations are found for symmetric and anti symmetric modes in generalized forms.
