Tests on beam-column strong and weak axis connections

Abstract

In the present paper, the specimens of a test series having the same beam and column cross-sections for both strong and weak axis connections are considered. Moment-rotation curves of the connections are obtained from the test results. The influence of the type of the connection on the rotational stiffness is examined. Both types of connections are compared from the viewpoint of strength and stiffness.
