Abstract
In this study, theory of flow in manifold and computational fluid dynamics analysis are compared on dividing and combining consecutive type manifold which are used in heat exchanger. Before comparing these two studies, to measure the accuracy of CFD analysis, firstly journal is found which have experimental results on manifolds. The geometries are used for the experiment in this journal also use in CFD analysis with same initial and boundary conditions. CFD analysis results are very close to experimental results. In this way the accuracy of analysis had revealed. Geometric parameters of the three (E, M, and ζ) was examined for determining optimum manifold geometry to provide uniform flow distribution. How they affect the flow of these three parameters were investigated separately. Results of this study is compared with the previously established theory of flow in manifold. Theory of flow in manifold and CFD analysis were converged very well.
