Abstract
In this study, the homo and copolymers of N-vinyl carbazole (NVCz) were prepared by both, free radical polymerization with azo bis isobutyronitrile (AIBN) as initiator and redox polymerization method with cerium ammonium nitrate (CAN) as initiator. The obtained polymers were interacted with different fillers such as oraganically modified clays, multiwalled carbon nanotube (CNT) and oxidized graphite (o-GL). MWCNT and o-GL composites were prepared by solution blending and in-situ polymerization methods. The chemically synthesized PNVCz/MMT composites were electrodeposited on platinum (Pt) and glassy carbon (GC) electrode. On the other hand, PNVCz was was electropolymerized on PDMS coated Platinum (Pt) and glassy carbon (GC) electrodes. The empedometric results obtained from the films on electrode surface, appropriate equivalent circuits were modeled and interpreted. The obtained composites were characterized by Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR), Diferential Scanning Calorimeter (DSC), Termogravimetric Analysis (TGA), Polarized Optical Microscope (POM), Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM). The conductivity and electroactivity of the composites were investigated by Cyclic Voltametry (CV), Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy (EIS) and DC-measurements.
