Abstract

ABSTRACTWithin the last ten years ship design, shipbuilding and ship operation have witnessed the emergence of new microcomputer technologies which have had a dramatic impact on the way ships are designed, built and operated. This paper presents the development of the BRITDES computer aided design and detailing system and its utilisation of microcomputers in ship design, analysis and production.
