Abstract
Bu çalışmada, çelik yapılarda yangının önemi, tarihsel süreç içerisinde gelişen yangın koruma yöntemleri incelenerek değerlendirilmiştir. Yangının neden olduğu can ve mal kayıpları istatiksel olarak belirtilmiştir. Binalar tasarlanırken yangın konusunda alınması gereken önlemler anlatılmıştır.Çelik taşıyıcı sistemin bir çok üstünlükleri vardır, en çok eleştirildiği nokta ise yangına dayanımının az olmasıdır. Ancak gerekli hesaplamalar ve yeterli yalıtımlar yapıldığı sürece yangına karşı dayanımı artılabilmektedir
In this study, the importance of fire in steel buildings and the development of fire protection methods have been examined. The statistical results during the fire have been shown and the causes of fire deaths in buildings have been presented. When the buildings are designed, protection principles that have to be taken account have been noticed. Steel structures offer many advantages, however the most important disadvantage is that they are not very resistant against fire. But enough protection and good calculation can improve the resistance of the structure against the fire.
