On the abrasion resistant cast iron with 2.1% carbon, 12% chromium

Abstract

The scrap of the widely used cold work tool steel X210Cr12 seems to be a profitable raw material for casting abrasion resistant parts. Thus it was the aim of this work to investigate the properties and, particularly, the wear behaviour of cast specimens produced from this scrap without any further alloyiong, and to make a comparison with common white irons by taking also cost ratios into consideration
