Abstract

Effective capacity is defined as a link layer model for QoS provisioning with maximum constant arrival rates that can be supported while satisfying delay bounds. In this paper, we examine how effective capacity changes in a parallel cooperative wireless network topology under approximate generalized-K composite fading effects. In a parallel cooperative topology in which adaptive modulation and coding used, we examine the effective capacity change depending on QoS exponent decay rate and signal to noise ratio (SNR) values. We change fading and shadowing parameters to obtain numeric results showing that increased number of participating relays improve the effective capacity.
