Abstract
Abstract A mathematical model previously developed was used to represent the actual conditions resulting from varying degrees of axial dispersion and wastewater quality. A simulated process analysis was carried out for a series connection of up to four completely mixed reactors. A dispersion prediction parameter was then evaluated to express results generally. Nomograms were given to determine the required hydraulic residence time for a reactor with a given dispersion number, when inlet and outlet conditions and the coefficients of Monod kinetics are given.
