Prioritizing Manufacturing Challenges of a Contract Manufacturing Company for Personal Auto by Using Spherical WASPAS Method

Abstract

Since the development of manufacturing systems provides many opportunities such as standardizing the tasks, increasing productivity, it also brings some challenges for the companies to deal with. These challenges can be sorted as manual handling and safety, skilled labor shortage, internet of things, maintaining the right inventory levels, robotics and automation change, labor shortage, new technologies, cyber security, global competition, attracting qualified leads, etc. Since these challenges contain both qualitative and quantitative evaluations for the measurement together with the solution alternatives, it can be considered as a multi criteria decision making (MCDM) problem. For the qualitative evaluations, process includes uncertainties and vagueness as a result of human evaluations. To overcome uncertainty and vagueness in the decision-making process, the spherical fuzzy sets (SFSs) are utilized for the applicability of the available data for the WASPAS method. In this chapter, a ranking method, WASPAS, based on single-valued spherical fuzzy sets is applied for the prioritization of the manufacturing challenges of a contract manufacturing company by considering evaluations of a group of experts.
