Analysis of health facilities expenditures by facility parameters

Abstract

Developments in the health sector in our country have enabled us to achieve international standards and even reach a further level in terms of treatment and care across the country. Progress has led to the intensification of competition in the sector and the cost- oriented management approach. In this study, cost analysis of spare parts, maintenance and repair services expenses for medical devices were performed in ten different hospitals under the supervision of the Ministry of Health in the province of Hatay. With the cost analysis, it was possible to examine the expenditures of the medical devices as the health facilities. Relations between the data obtained from the analyzes and the parameters of different health care facilities were evaluated. It was also aimed to establish a decision support system for the investments to be made to the health facility managers with the obtained data.
