Abstract
In this study, within the framework of the piecewise homogeneous body model, with the use of the exact three-dimensional geometrically linear equations of elasticity theory for anisotropic bodies, the determination of the stress-strain state in the infinite body containing periodically located two neighboring periodically curved Carbon Nanotubes (CNT) with infinite length, is studied. It is assumed that the midlines of the CNTs are located in the same plane and with respect to the location of the CNTs according to each other the co-phase curving case is considered. Moreover, the materials of the CNTs are the same. The stress distribution is studied when the body is loaded at infinity by uniformly distributed normal forces in the direction of the CNTs’ location. The normal and shear self-equilibrated stresses arising as a result of the CNT curving are analyzed and the influences of the interaction between the CNTs on the distribution are studied. Numerical results to this interaction are obtained.
