Abstract
Bu yüksek lisans tez çalışması, TÜBİTAK adına İstanbul Teknik Üniversitesi Maden Fakültesi Jeoloji Mühendisliği Bölümü Uygulamalı Jeoloji ve Genel Jeoloji Anabilim Dalları tarafından yürütülen “Büyükçekmece – Marmara Ereğlisi Arası Kıyı ve Deniz Alanının Jeomorfolojisi ve Çökellerinin Jeomekanik Özellikleri” konu başlıklı projeden türetilmiştir. Litolojik tanımları yapılan çökellerin, jeomekanik özelliklerinin belirlenmesi amacıyla, karotlardan elde edilen örnekler üzerinde fiziksel, mekanik ve kıvam özellik belirleyici deneyler yapılmıştır.Morfolojisi, jeolojisi ve davranışı bilinen deniz içi çökellerinin deprem sırasındaki duraylılığı incelenmiştir. Bölgenin herhangi bir sismik aktivite olmadan duraylı olduğu, sismik aktivite olduğunda ise duraylılığının kaybolduğu ve çökellerin Orta Havza ve Kumburgaz Havzasına doğru hareket ettiği gözlenmiştir.
This Master of Science thesis has been gathered from the TUBITAK project “Geomechanical and Geomorphological Properties Of The Shoreline and Sea Sediments Between Büyükçekmece – Marmara Ereğlisi” which has been done by ITU Faculty Of Mines Geology Engineering Applied Geology and Geology Department. After defining the lithology of the sediments, physical, mechanical and atterberg limit tests have been applied to the samples taken from the bore holes to define the geomechanical properties. In the last section, because of the sysmic activities, the land slide probability of the sediments have been modelled by looking their morphological, geological and geomechanical properties. As conclusion, we saw that the sediments in the Marmara Sea are the safety factor is equal or bigger than 1 without a sysmic activity. After adding the sysmic weight the safety factor decreases, stability problem occurs and the sediments flow to the Central and Kumburgaz Basin.
