Bilim-kurgu Edebiyatında Ütopya Ve Mimarlık İlişkisi

Abstract

Bu tez çalışmasının amacı, bilim-kurgu edebiyatı kapsamında 20. yüzyıl boyunca üretilen ütopya ve ters-ütopyaların içerdikleri hayali toplumların konumlandırıldığı hayali fiziksel çevreleri, eserin yazıldığı dönemin etkili dinamikleri ve eserin kendine özgü kurgulanmış gerçekliği bağlamında incelemektir. Bu inceleme için, ütopya ve bilim-kurgu kavramlarının tanımları yapılıp tarihsel gelişimleri anlatıldıktan sonra, 20. yüzyıl boyunca yazılmış olan bilim-kurgu edebiyatı ürünleri arasından sekiz adet roman ve öykü seçilmiştir. 20. yüzyılın farklı dinamiklerinden izler taşıyan bu öyküler, kendilerine özgü gerçeklikleri ve yazıldıkları dönemlerin gelişmeleri ile olan etkileşimleri bağlamında ele alınarak önerdikleri ya da eleştirdikleri toplumsal düzenler ile bu düzenlerin altyapısını oluşturan mekanların ilişkisi açısından incelenmiştir.

The objective of this thesis is to examine the utopias and distopias produced through the 20th century in the scope of science fiction literature, in the context of the novels’ own speculated realities and the effective dynamics of the periods in which the novels are written. After defining utopia and science-fiction and explaining their developments through the history, eight science fiction novels and stories which are written through the 20th century are chosen, to examine the reflections of the characteristics of social lives to the physical environments described in the stories. The physical spaces described as a foundation in the stories which carry the traces of different dynamics of the 20th century are examined according to the relations of them between the social orders which are suggested or criticized in the stories.
