Abstract

Abstract This paper provides new insight to the parameter identification problem in analog linear circuits by introducing the concept of n-pencils. With the given approach, the uniquely solvable set of parameters can be determined by the rank test of the Toeplitz matrix constructed from the parameter coefficient matrices which can be obtained from the topology of the network. This approach is a unified one in that it considers both the single and multiple excitation sets and yields constraints on the coefficient matrices for unique solvability of the parameters for both cases.
