In the field of seismology and structural engineering, scientists are always  working to create safer and more stable infrastructures. One main concern is to be able to  survive earthquakes. To better understand seismic activity and how they affect  structures, earthquake shake tables were invented to model seismic waves and simulate an earthquake. Earthquake shake tables have been on the leading edge of seismic design and technology. There are several different experimental techniques that can be used to test the response of structures to verify their seismic performance, one of which is the use of an earthquake shaking table (a shaking table, or simply shake table). This is the only experimental technique for direct simulation of inertia forces, which can be used to simulate different types of motion such as recorded earthquake ground motions, harmonic (Sine, Ramp, Pulse), sine sweeps (increasing, decreasing), Sine, Random etc.. Shake table test results enhance further the understanding of the behavior of structures and calibration of various numerical tools used for analysis. This facility can be utilized for verification of earthquake resistant design of buildings, other structures, mechanical components, devices, etc. A single-axis table is the simplest form of earthquake simulator which is not only useful for many investigations when it is only desirable to excite the specimen in one axis, but also simplifies subsequent interpretation of the results. Further, the current trends suggest that structural laboratories worldwide, are finding uniaxial shake tables easy to operate and maintain For situations where analysis cannot adequately predict the behaviour of a specimen, experimental testing may be the best option. Shake-table tests are a favorable method used to apply dynamic loads to the base of the specimen. Shake tests are performed to simulate earthquake loads on a myriad of specimens, including structural and non-structural elements, as well as full-scale and partial-scale models. The shake-table can also synthesize earthquake time histories or signals such as sine, swept sine, and other controlled wave motions.  This is a device for shaking structural models or building components with a wide range of simulated ground motions, including reproductions of recorded earthquakes time-histories. While modern tables typically consist of a rectangular platform that is driven in up to six degrees of freedom (DOF) by servo-hydraulic or other types of actuators, the earliest shake table, invented at the University of Tokyo in 1893 to categorize types of building construction, ran on a simple wheel mechanism. Test specimens are fixed to the platform and shaken, often to the point of failure. Using video records and data from transducers,it is possible to interpret the dynamic behaviour of the specimen. Earthquake shaking tables are used extensively in seismic research, as they provide the means to excite structures in such a way that they are subjected to conditions representative of true earthquake ground motions. The more advanced earthquake shake tables can even recreate recorded earthquakes. The working principle of shaking table is that the rigid plate attached to the specimen issubjected to vibration with a desired acceleration function. Applied acceleration records, can be produced as a real earthquake record. Because of table dimensions and limit capacity of the system typically sized samples are used. Turkey is under the constant risk of earthquakes. The role of shaking table test is increasingly important in assuring and assessing the performance of structures during earthquake. The Department of Structural and Earthquake Engineering at of IstanbulTechnical University has recently acquired a set of shake table facilities to conduct experimentation on structural dynamics and particularly how to monitor and actively control structures subjected  to earthquake ground motions or other force excitations. The central feature of the new established Shaking laboratory is an advanced, closed-loop, servo-controlled electro-hydraulic seismic simulator or shake table. Most shaking table tests involve typical devices such as displacement measurements (LVDT, Linear Voltage Displacement Transducer), accelerometers and strain gages.  This high performance seismic simulator can accurately reproduce earthquake ground motions and a variety of other input wave forms, and can configured for wide range of testing applications. It can be used for seismic research and qualification testing of equipment, structural components and scale models. Since the experimental research is an important factor in the developing of the construction industry of Turkey the shaking table Laboratory has been equipped with the most contemporary devices and has become a laboratory of research in order to improve technology in every field of structural and earthquake engineering. The ARI_I is a uni-axial horizontal vibration shake table driven by a servo-hydraulic actuator. The table was designed by .........  and it  is capable of carrying a maximum 8-ton payload on the 2.35 m x 2.35 m table, and is capable of shaking a 8 -ton payload with 2 g acceleration (i.e. two times the acceleration of gravity in the horizontal direction). The shake table is ideally suited to seismic applications, because the hydraulic actuator can produce a stroke of +/- 32.5 cm ( 65 cm total stroke).  Shaking table construction, a large part of ITU graduates who contributed 19 individuals and organizations . Mechanical , electrical, hydraulic and software issues attract attention with their unique design and shaking table made entirely with local resources , has cost 250 thousand dollars . İn This study, thehydraulic motor, mid-sized and single-axis ARI-I shake table was built under supervision of the Civil Engineering Faculty and Earthquake Engineering Laboratory of Istanbul Technical University. Performance tests were carried out and the effective use of table limits were determined.  The shake table was tested with 3load caseswhile the table was empty, 25 kNand 50 kN; and performance limits were investigated by harmonic loading functions, the actual earthquake records and under the influence of white noises.  In this thesis, performance curves developed for ARI-I shake table is expected to reveal the physical capacity of the existing system which is veryessential to this subject. In the experimental part of the study, it was investigated that, how to clean the achieved noisy signal by signal processing, filtering etc. As a result of the study, an important experimental facility was constructed in Structural and Earthquake Laboratory of Civil Engineering Department of Istanbul Technical University.
