Türk Müziğinde Dönem Anlayışı

Abstract

Bu çalışma İTÜ Sosyal Bilimler Enstitüsü yüksek lisans tezi olarak hazırlanmıştır. ?Türk Müziğinde Dönem Anlayışı? başlıklı bu tezde önce Türk müziğini sınıflandıran kişilerin yazılı kaynaklarda tespit edilen dönem anlayışları incelenerek değerlendirilmiştir. Üçüncü bölümde yaptıkları çalışmalarda dönemsel ifadeler kullanan kişilerin düşünceleri tarafımızca sınıflandırılmaya çalışılmış, dönem anlayışları hakkında ipuçları elde edilmiştir. Dördüncü bölümde incelenen dönem anlayışları içinde Avrupa müziğinde görülen adlandırmaları kullanan kişilere rastlanıldığından benzerlikler ve farklılıkları ortaya koyabilmek adına Avrupa müziği dönemleri çalışılmıştır. Beşinci bölümde Sosyal Bilimlerdeki diğer disiplinlerden Osmanlı mimarisi ve Türk edebiyatı dönemleri çalışılmıştır. Sonuçta Türk müziğinde ortak bir dönem anlayışı olmadığı, geçmişte yapılan sınıflamaların bugün kullanılmadığı görülmüştür. Arşiv çalışmalarının tamamlanmasıyla sonuçlara ulaşılabileceği düşünülmektedir.

This work has been prepared as a ?Master of Arts Thesis? to be submitted to the Institute of Social Sciences of Istanbul Technical University in partial fulfilment of the requirements. In this thesis which is called ?The Understanding of `Periods? in Turkish Music?, first the publications which have so far been done on the understanding of periods have been studied and we have observed the different understanding. In third section of work we have intended to classify the thoughts and opinions of those who, throughout their publications, have been depicted to be emphasizing ?periods? without aiming to come up with a specific theory of periods and hence the understanding of periods. In fourth section of the work as a result of having many encounters with similar understandings of period as of the European one, The European approach to periods have been studied in order to consider the similarities and differences between the two perspectives. The fifth section is a study on the understanding of periods in other disciplines of social sciences: Ottoman Arcitecture and Turkish Literature. Consequently, it has been observed that there is not yet a common understanding of periods in Turkish Music and the classifications that have been done in the past are no longer in use today. By the completion of those works that are complited, the clouds of confusion surrounding the history of Turkish Music are expected to clear away and accordingly, developments toward a common understanding of periods in Turkish Music are considered.
